A typical Australian bush house with a tidy yard, a hammock and eight chairs at the dining table is empty and eerily quiet.
The home belongs to a family of four in Sydney's north who are believed to have been wiped out in the White Island volcano tragedy on Monday.
Investment banker Martin Hollander, his wife Barbara and their Knox Grammar School student sons Matthew, 13, and Berend, 16, were on the island when it erupted, killing at least 15 people.
